On July 29, Samrat De, a member of the Leo Club, was seriously injured in a bike accident in Nilambazar, Assam. The Lions Club and Leo Club of Kailashahar organized a press conference regarding this incident. The conference was attended by Lions Club President Supriya Dev Roy, Leo Club President Bipasha Dev, Leo Lion Saurabh Biswas, Leo Club Treasurer Samrat De, and his mother Sangita De.

Bipasha Dev said that on July 29, Samrat De and Nilanjan Das were involved in an accident while traveling from Kailashahar to Silchar. A truck hit their bike, causing them to fall off. Nilanjan suffered minor injuries, but Samrat was severely injured.

The accident occurred at 10:20 am in front of the Nilambazar PHC center. After the accident, Nilanjan informed the Kailashahar Lions Club, which then informed the Karimganj Lions Club. The Karimganj club members admitted Samrat to the Karimganj Civil Hospital, where he received initial treatment before being transferred to Silchar.

The Silchar Lions Club members made arrangements for Samrat's treatment at the Silchar hospital. Samrat's mother arrived in Silchar before his treatment began. After two surgeries in Silchar, Samrat was transferred to Guwahati. His condition was critical, with severe facial injuries, a broken nose, and a damaged right eye.

In Guwahati, Samrat underwent four surgeries. The Lions and Leo clubs of Barak Valley, Tripura, Guwahati, and Upper Assam provided unprecedented support. They managed to get the best doctors, and Samrat's face was reconstructed.

Currently, Samrat's right eye is closed to prevent infection. The eye will be opened after 15 days. Everyone hopes that Samrat will regain his vision in both eyes.

At the press conference, Samrat's eye was bandaged, and he became emotional while speaking about the support he received from the club. His mother, Sangita De, said that the club was like a temple for them, and the support they received was unimaginable.

The Leo Club members said that 600 members provided financial and physical support to Samrat. They thanked the Lions and Leo clubs of Assam and Tripura for their cooperation. Leo Club President Bipasha Dev said that being part of such a club helped Samrat recover miraculously. She appealed to others to join the Leo Club."
